Biography

Elizabeth was born in Hurstpierpoint, Sussex in 1855. She is the daughter of James Saunders and Mary Gander. Christening was on 3 June 1855.

As a young girl, she spent some time working as a servant. At age 24, Elizabeth married Charles Hole, a widower 20 years her senior, and who already had 8 children. Elizabeth and Charles would become the parents of 9 more children.

Elizabeth was widowed in 1896 and she passed away in March 1900 at about age 44. She was interred in Bolney, Sussex on 29 March 1900.
