Biography

William was born in 1866. He was the son of William Shriver and Roberta Lyon.

On September 12, 1900, William James Shriver married Louisa Lynch in Allegheny, Pennsylvania.[1]

He passed away on March 22, 1917, in Baltimore, Maryland.

An obituary appeared in the Westminster (Maryland) Democratic Advocate on March 23, 1917.

"William J. Shriver, son of the late William Shriver, of this city, died at his residence, 1629 Westwood avenue, Baltimore, yesterday morning, in his 51st year. Mr. Shriver married Miss Louise Lynch, of this city, and formerly lived here. He is survived by his wife and son,, John Lynch, and the following brothers and sisters, <rs.Snader and Miss Mamie Shriver, of Pittsburg; Misses Emma, Bertie and Susie Shriver,Baltimore; Thomas F., Kye, of Baltimore, and Stewart Shriver,Pittsburg.

"His body will be brought to this city on the 9.34 train tomorrow morning and taken to St.. John's Church, where services and interment will take place. F. C. Sharrer, funeral director."[2]

Living with him was his wife Cecelia B. Shriver, 40, and their children Robert L. Shriver, 18; Thomas F. Shriver, 16; Mary J. Shriver, 15; William Shriver, 13; John S. Shriver, 12; Roberta L. Shriver, 10; Andrew K. Shriver, 10; John L. Shriver, 6; and Sarah A. Shriver, 2.[3]
