About 1804, Elijah Shriver married Nancy Jackson, probably the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Stump) Jackson, neighbors of the Shrivers in Greene County and later in Guernsey County, Ohio. They were the parents of at least 12 children.
Elijah appeared in the 1814 tax list in Guernsey County, Ohio along with an Adam.Shriver.
He passed away in March, 1828, in Guernsey County, Ohio. Elijah had written a will on March 11, 1828. It was probated on March 27, 1828.
