Disambiguation Please do not merge with Elizabeth Sherburne who married Thomas Fairfax. According to Douglas Richardson they were sisters of the same name.^[1]

Biography

Elizabeth was the daughter of Richard Sherburne of Stonyhurst, Lancashire and Agnes Harrington.^[1][2]

She was left bequests in her mother's Will.^[2][3] The Will was proved on 30 November 1444^[1], so she presumably died after then.

Research Notes

Charles Davies Sherborn in his book on the history of the Sherborn family says that she was wife of Thomas, son of Richard Clitheroe of Alkely, Nottinghamshire. An earlier version of this profile gave her married name as Stanley, but did not identify a husband or source; she had an aunt who married a Stanley and is called Dame Elizabeth Stanley in the Will of her sister Agnes, the mother of the Elizabeth of this profile.^[2][3]
