Major Richard Saltonstall married at All Hallows, Honey Lane, London, 4 July 1633 Muriel Gurdon, daughter of Brampton Gurdon, Esq. [1] They had three sons, Richard, Nathaniel, and Gurdon, and three daughters, Muriel, (wife of Edward Moseley, Knight), Abigail, (wife of Thomas Harley, Esq.), and Elizabeth, (wife of Hercules Horsely, Esq.).[1]
Marriage entry reads: Mr Richard Saltinshall, son of Sir Richard Saltinshall and Merrel Gurdon daughter of Brampton Gurdon Esquire of Assington, Suffolk, both single ptns were married here, the banns being published in the parish church where they both lived on Thursday, the 4th July 1633. All Hallows Honey Land, City of London.

Richard immigrated with his father to Watertown, Massachusetts, New England in 1630 and returned to England in 1631,[3] remaining for four years.[1] He returned to New England in 1635 with his wife and their 9-month-old child "Merriall" on the Susan and Ellinn[4] and they settled at Ipswich, Massachusetts.[1] He visited Holland, and visited England several times.[1] He died at Hulme, Lancashire, England 29 April 1694.
