WikiTree-36

This is the project account for the Magna Carta Project. It is tied to the project's Profile Alerts Google Group. Project members and affiliates belong to that group in order to help monitor profiles that have this project account on the trusted list or as a manager. The Project Alerts Google Group recieves e-mails sent to WikiTree-36 (activity reports of followed tags and watchlist profiles, copies of comments posted here and on project-managed profiles, and private messages sent to WikiTree-36).
Only members of the Project leadership team should add the Magna Carta Project Account as a profile manager. To do this:
  1. On the profile, click the Privacy tab.
  2. In the "Add to Trusted List" section, enter: wikitreemagnacarta[at]googlegroups.com (changing out [at] for @)
  3. Click the "Add this Person" button.
  4. Scroll back down and click [Add as Manager] to the right of the entry for WikiTree-36.
  5. Post a comment on the profile that you have added the project as a manager and why (since WikiTree-36 has been added as a manager, the comment will be sent as an e-mail to the Google Group, notifying the project that the profile has been added).

This link is for "DBE Project Status" (which is a tool for project leaders to verify that project-managed profiles, that are properly managed by the project, have the appropriate project box displayed: if a profile is project-managed, it should have both the project account as manager and the corresponding project box displayed).

Magna Carta Project 5-Star Profiles are now tracked in spreadsheets maintained by the Pre-1500 and Post-1500 Teams on their respective team pages. For a "live" list from WT+, click here (you may need to click the "Get profiles" button when you get there). For more information about 5-Star profiles, please see this G2G post. Note: To search for 5-star profiles that you manage, just replace WikiTree-36 in this URL with your WikiTree-ID:

Hi there,

As per Douglas Richardson's Magna Carta Ancestry, I believe that Margaret Brent cannot be Sir Edward's Moore's (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Moore-16881) mother since his father married her, the widow of John Dering, only after 1550 (i.e. after Sir Edward Moore's birth). https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=8JcbV309c5UC&pg=RA1-PA176

I also came across the Moore family tree in this article on JSTOR showing Sir Edward Moore being born before his father's marriage to Margaret Brent/Dering. https://www.jstor.org/stable/27728361

This is now reflected in the DIB article about Sir Edward Moore as well: https://www.dib.ie/biography/moore-sir-edward-a5925

This also aligns with his father's WikiTree profile:

"He married twice and had five sons:

Unknown Washington (daughter of John Washington). [2] Owen Moore. Eldest son. Clerk of the Check. Died 1585. [3] 1530 Sir Edward Moore. Born England, emigrated to Ireland. Married in 1571. [3]"

Could you please remove Margaret Brent as the mother of Sir Edward Moore? I am unable to do so since her profile is Project Protected.

Many thanks in advance!

Andrew

Thank you. I have detached Margaret Brent as Edward's mother, and added research notes to both her and Edward's profiles.

Many thanks for the quick turn-around, it was greatly appreciated!

Hi I have an ancestor profile, I would like you to look into, I put the possible MC sticker on the profile. And I am about to add you to the trusted list, this line has been heavily researched, but Not on your current gateway ancestor list. Because Richard Montague, was a well connected, I am guessing he belongs on the list, lol. Hopefully I did not overstep putting the sticker on, to get your attention to the profile. Thank you-Yvonne

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Montague-281 Looks like I cant add you to trusted list until i am on trusted list, woah. Will add you as soon as I can

Hi! I've removed the templates and categories that you added to his profile. He is not currently within the scope of the Magna Carta Project (he is not a Gateway Ancestory documented by Richardson).

You would need to develop the profile to have primary sources to show parent/child connections to a profile that has been documented by Richardson before he could be considered for inclusion in the project.

I will be fixing Richard Montague-281. His current ancestry is incorrect.

Update: This one required a fair amount of work as the ancestry was wrong on 3 places.

Robert Montague was not a son William Montague Margaret Malthouse was not a daughter of John Malthouse and Margaret Bullock William Allen was not a son of John Allen and Elizabeth Dudley.

Thank you, Joe, for your great work on this.

FYI - Only project leaders (and project coordinators, for projects that have them) are on the trusted list for project account profiles such as this one.

Cheers, Liz

if you have a profile using {{FMG}, see Space:Medieval_Lands for examples of coded citations.

Thanks!

update: The {{FMG} template has been removed from the project's profiles.

Hi! The {{FMG} template is no longer displaying any information. It is (well, it was) a "Source Template", which are no longer allowed.

Many (MANY) Magna Carta Project profiles had {{FMG} listed under the sources section (or lower). The template also had a target for [[#MedLands... (meaning you could add a link in the text that would click through to the citation).

[cut information no longer relevant]

... continued...

FYI: When an image has no profiles attached, it goes red (privacy level) and only the person who uploaded it can access it. It will also be deleted from WikiTree (after 30 days, I think) if it is not attached to anything. So... I added WikiTree-36 to https://www.wikitree.com/photo/jpg/Bohun-110 (which has been questioned as not portraying the person represented by Bohun-15, to which it's now attached).

Was just looking at the Relationship finder playing with the list of surety Barons. Is it really possible that 12 or 13 of the men on that list are directly related to me? Could they all really be my 24th, 25th, 27th Great Grandfathers? That is the results I got when I checked. I notice someone below recently got similar results. We must be related. (and they try and tell us there is no Illuminati).
I see that I am a direct descendent of at least 15 men on your list. This is very exciting for me. I have not looked into this group project as of yet, but may be interested in joining after doing so. Just wanted to say that I am interested in this project.

It looks fine now Liz. No clue what happened, all other profiles I looked at then were fine, and that one was tiled. Oh well, maybe a gremlin in my computer playing tricks?

Thank you for taking a look at it.

April - I don't see that anything's changed recently & it looks ok on my desktop.

Anyone else having the problem?
