I have a question: I think this is an excellent effort on Rick's part. I assume the reason we post publications in a Space like this is because we as an institution promote free access to information. There is a problem, however, when a source is under the auspices of AmericanAncestors, then the link I post on a profile could lead here, or directly to the AA website. Considering copyright limitations is there a benefit to source from here and not directly to AA?

Amanda, This is a reference page only. It shows links where there is free access to these publications. For those publications where no free access is available, it shows the link to the AA website. Never cite this page as your source. I always include a link to the exact page within the source (a free source or the AA website if no free source is available). For examples of how this page is used on WikiTree, click on the "WikiTree Profiles that use this source" link. This page is used on several thousand WikiTree profiles.

Thank you Rick. I'm a recent member of AA and sourcing is so confusing. It is an amazing page...just mho

I won't second guess the NEHGS motives, but I've removed the links to the NEHGR published after 1942, although people can still find them on Google Books or archive.org.

I agree, Jillaine. We should not support disrespect of sources and authors.

Rick, I'm concerned about the links to recent issues on "Edwin's Blog" on archive.org. Those have got to be bootleg copies uploaded without NEHGS permission, don't you think ?

Heather, Thanks for the link. It is now listed here under "Other Issues".
