Biography

May was born in 1874. She is the daughter of Charles Rawson and Catherine Henbury.

In 1893 she married John McKane, Export Merchant, of 45 Barnes St W, Earls Court, London. He was born in Hexham, Northamptonshire, the son of the late John McKane Esq. Witnesses were Frank and Kate Rawson. Her father Charles’ profession is given as Tea Planter.

They had children:

Margaret (1895) m Andrew Denys Stocks
Kathleen (1896) m Leslie A Godfree

Margaret and Kathleen (Kitty) both became preeminent tennis players.

In 1901 they lived at 45 Barnes St, Marylebone, London.

She died in 1929. Probate to Margaret Stocks (wife of Andrew Denys Stocks). Estate 300 pounds.
