Biography

Evelyn was born in 1846. She was the daughter of Christopher Rawson and Ellen Wright.

In 1864 she married Sir Francis Walter De Winton CGMG, CB, RA. He was a British Army officer, colonial administrator and courtier in the Household of the Duke of York.

They were married at Lennoxville, Eastern Townships, by the Right Rev. The Lord Bishop of Quebec, assisted by the Rev. A. C. Scarth. At the time of their marriage, Captain de Winton was ADC to Lieut General Sir W F Williams, Bart.

They had children:
