hi David, you removed the PPP on Joseph Louis (Montcalm) de Montcalm (1712-1759)' profile. Seems Ales had categorized it as needing to be removed. But NOBODY talked to the project about it. The PPP is needed to protect the name at birth, as there are all sorts of places that give it differently, adding Dozon...

Please replace the PPP. Thank you.

Hi Danielle. The Notables Project spent the day yesterday removing ourselves from numerous profiles we don't belong on. That generally included removing the PPP from these profiles as well. We tried to be careful not to remove the PPP from profiles managed by other projects, but in this case we goofed. I have restored the PPP. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I have a question about the people below on your page. I see the same exact people on my great grandfather's page at the bottom. What does this mean? I know NOTHING about WikiTree.

Hi David,

I have ancestors that were Sabbatarians. I searched to see if there was a Wikitree category for this and found that there is. I see there is also a page - thanks for this. I went to check the They Came to Milton RootsWeb database for my family and found that it's been taken down and apparently in the process of being migrated to Ancestry. In the interim, is there any other place where I can check to see if my family members are listed? The one person I've categorized so far is Benjamin R Millard (1788-1879). TIA

My knowledge of the Sabbatarians is limited to the early colonists of Rhode Island, particularly in Newport and Westerly. I'm not sure there is any "master list" of Sabbatarians throughout time. But, if you have an idea of the specific congregation your ancestors might have belonged to, I'd try contacting that church directly. They may have old membership lists, baptismal records, marriage registers, etc., which are not available online.

To find the church, Google "Seventh Day Baptists" along with the community name. Most sites will have contact information.

I did find a book online called "Seventh Day Baptists in Europe and America..." (American Sabbath Tract Society, 1902), which lists a Barton M. Millard as a trustee of the Seventh Baptist Publishing Society in New York City (1860-1866). Not sure if he is related to your Benjamin Millard.

Let me know what help I can provide you.

Hi David, our November Challenge went really well, all of the Notable Officers have been connected to the One World Tree, and 69 of the Officers had their CC7 numbers increased. Thank you for the research you did, and for the profiles you created and connected for the Challenge.

Hello David - just following up from your WT Day talk. The United Kingdom project is definitely defunct (from about 2020 from memory) but every so often we come across bits which have escaped the clearing up.

How does the England Project go about claiming English notables from GitM project? Should I send you a list?.

Thanks, Jo, England Project Managed Profiles Team Coordinator

Hello again David,

I have no connection with Estonia. I will still need to watch this project and how it ties back to the Russian Empire. I will need to create bridges between Prussia and Russian Empire Governates and Lithuania. https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1613056/historical-east-prussia-in-russia-and-lithuania-categories?show=1614231#c1614231

Heya, David - I'm no fan of gridiron (Aussie Rules for me!), but this guy deserves a profile if only to honour his sheer determination. He has 2 language pages in addition to the English Wikipedia page, but the English one does not mention any nuclear family by name (although the movie Rudy does).

Also, I could ask my sibling's partner if she can tell me anything about Kenyan naming patterns (she is Kenyan), but without promises as the query would need to go through my sibling and there are memory issues due to a head injury.

posted by Melanie Paul
Rudy was actually my son's favorite film when he was a kid as he was a bit of an underdog himself.

This is an interesting Wikipedia profile because the family is mentioned on multiple occasions (14 siblings, father and brother were in the movie); it's just that whoever wrote the bio chose not to include actual names. I'll discuss with Scott our options for overriding the Notability guidelines to include someone like this.

Hello David,

I am amazed how well Google translate works. While looking through the information for Ukraine I saw a profile name in Hebrew. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/%D7%91%D7%A2%D7%A8%D7%A0%D7%A9%D7%98%D7%B2%D7%9F-2

Google translated שמואל צבי בן ישראל as Shmuel Zvi ben Israel (who was born in Vinnytsia, Ukraine)

I've just recently discovered the same thing. I've been translating Hindi and Ukrainian both to and from English and have been amazed at the accuracy.

Hello David,

Congratulations on leading the 15 Nations' Tour!

I am a member of the Latin_America Project. I have noticed a good improvement in messages in the last 2 weeks. Not only Argentina. but also Brazil.

Thanks Steve, I couldn't be more thrilled with how much hard work members have put into this project, and I've been particular impressed by the number if Argentines who have been participating. Once the tour is over, I'm hoping the Latin America project will pick up where we leave off.

Cheers. I will do my best to ensure that the Latin America project picks up from this tour endpoint.

Greetings from Rochester Hills, Michigan...!

I read your "Meet our Members" interview and just had to dig into the Randall Line in your tree. I've been struggling with validating my Randall line past my 3rd Great-Grandfather: Stephen Solomon Randall (Born in England in 1827- died in Tilbury, Ontario, Canada in 1891). I'm hoping that referencing your research will help me to make some connections.

Regards, David Randall

Since your Randall ancestor immigrated a century and a half after mine we likely won't find a connection in the U.S. But I wonder if we might have a connection in England? Have you done a DNA test? That would likely be the quickest way to determine if our lines do indeed cross.

Please feel free to edit back what I changed to read more properly "The Second Sabbatarian Church in America at Westerly, Rhode Island". I have years of research into this. I have References in my library and correspondence with Don A.Sanford, a co-author of 'Newport Seventh Day Baptist Trilogy'. Please humor me and listen. Joseph and Mary Torrey were members of the 1st Baptist Church at Newport. Those in my first quoted reference became Sabbatarians, it was after long Sunday services a the 1st Baptist Church where they were all members. Joseph Torrey, then Secretary of State for RI, was the mediator trying to calm the controversy of Saturday services. Joseph is actually the Elder that laid hands on Samuel Hubbard and brought him to 1st Baptist membership. The second reference I quoted is a profession of faith of the first members of the SECOND Sabbatarian Church and they include our John and Elizabeth, John's friend Job Babcock, and Samuel Hubbard's son-in-law Robert Burdick.
Thanks Thomas,

I am always happy to have additional information and/or corrections added to my pages. We communicated with each other many years back and I have always been impressed by the thoroughness of your research.
