A wonderful gentle man, loved Eileen dearly and loved his family. Was disappointed they cancelled WW2 before he had any fun.

Enjoyed horse riding and camping with his brothers in the sandhills to the West of Benger. Made a lot of effort to keep in touch with his brothers and family

Arthur was the youngest of three brothers born to a pioneering family who ran a potato and dairy farm at Benger WA just south of Harvey. With two sons already enlisted in WW2, Arthus's father tried to hold back Arthurs' joining up.

Without permission, he joined the 10th Light Horse Regiment of mounted infantry. They patrolled the beaches of West Australia especially Jurien Bay for spies and intruders. In 1943 he was accepted into the Royal Australian Air Force to train as an Aircraft Wireless Operator at the end of his training, after being promoted to Sergeant, WW2 ended suddenly before Arthur was posted onto a squadron and he was discharged.
