John-751 and Powell-11718 appear to represent the same person because: duplicate profiles for the wife of Humphrey ap Hugh. Her LNAB should be "ferch John" but she was also known as Powell, so of the two choices, I'd recommend Powell (but renaming one would be better - ferch, with an f & lower case in the LNAB field with John).

Humphrey ap Hugh's wife was Elizabeth ferch John ap Howell (but her father was aka "Powell" ... formed from merging ap & Howell).

Elizabeth's last name should probably be ferch John.

her LNAB should be "ferch John". Her father was John ap Hywel. Some surnames adopted would keep the p ... e.g., Powell (for ap Howell; Price for ap Rees is another example).

Richardson, Douglas. Royal Ancestry: A Study In Colonial And Medieval Families, in 5 vols. (Salt Lake City, Utah, 2013), Vol. IV. 285.

Elizabeth Ferch John AP Howell, married about 1625 Humphrey AP Hugh, Gent., son of Hugh ap David ap Howell ap Gronw ab Einion, by Catherine ferch Sion ap Rhydderch Abergynolwyn. They had four sons and three daughters. Humphrey AP Hugh, Gent., died about 1664.

Thank you!

Wouldn't her surname be HOWEL or HOWELL instead of JOHN?

Possible hint. For what its worth.

Elizabeth Howell

1593–1664

Birth ABT 1593 • Llanwddyn, Montgomeryshire, Wales

Death ABT 1664 • Wales, United Kingdom

Elizabeth Howell (mother of Samuel; grandmother of Anne) is descended on her father's side from (1) Constance Plantagenet, daughter of Edmund Plantagenet, Duke of York, son of King Edward III. Edmund's wife was Isabella de Castille, and (2) Edmund de Holland, 4th Earl of Kent (husband of Constance Plantagenet), whose paternal grandmother was Princess Joan Plantagenet, daughter of King Edward III & Countess Phillippa of Hainault, and her husband Thomas de Holland, 1st Earl of Kent.
