Obit: "Vernon J. Plunk, 64, of Hardin County, court clerk for 18 years, died Monday, December 12, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital after a short illness,
He was also a former employee of Ford Motor Company, International Harvester and Shackelford Funeral Home.
Burial in Hardin County Memory Gardens Cemetery.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Savannah Masonic Lodge No. 192 F&AM, the Shriners and Scottish Rite, Woodmen of the World, American Legion and the Hardin County Saddle Club. He was a former Jaycee.
Mr. Plunk, the husband of Betty Walker Plunk, also leaves two daughters; Mrs. Ann Ingham of Portland, OR and Mrs. Debie Grissom of Huntsville, AL; two sons, Mike Plunk of Franklin, TN and David Plunk of Huntsville, AL; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Scott of Adamsville and Mrs. Neil Byrd of Counce; two brothers. Joe M. Plunk Jr. of Sheffield, AL and Paul Leon Plunk of Memphis and four grandchildren" (Commercial Appeal).
