Biography
Miss Agnes was one of the sweetest persons I've known. Enjoyed visiting with her in the 2000s along with her brother Leon who kept the Plunk family archives.
"Agnes Evora Plunk Scott was born June 24, 1917, in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Joseph Marion and Lola Wicker Plunk.
On May 23, 1934, she married Jodie Floyd Scott, who preceded her in death on June 13, 1989.
She was a homemaker and at one time was employed by Brown Shoe Company in Savannah and Garan Sportswear in Adamsville. Her many hobbies included sewing, crafts, flower gardening, and card making.
For over 40 years she taught Sunday School classes at the Bethlehem United Methodist Church, where she was a member for many years.
During the last few active years of her life, she attended the Adamsville First Freewill Baptist Church. She was a member of the "Jolly 17'ers," a pen pal club consisting of ladies born in 1917.
She is survived by 3 sons: Joe and Lenard Scott of Savannah, Tennessee, and Jerry Scott of Adamsville, Tennessee; 3 daughters, Lola Smith of Savannah, Tennessee, Wanda Harris of Adamsville, Tennessee, and Ruth Carpenter of Oxford, Alabama; 1 sister: Nelle Byrd of Counce, Tennessee; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, and 2 step-great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Joe M. Plunk, Vernon Plunk, and Paul Leon Plunk; 2 grandchildren, Timothy Scott and Darlene Carpenter Smith; 2 great-grandchildren, Brandi Scott and Tyler Smith' (unknown obit)
