Biography

John was born in Worcestershire, possibly Kidderminster but more likely in Alvechurch or Chaddesley Corbett, in 1776 and baptised on 27 November of that year in St Mary and All Saints' Church, Kidderminster.^[1] He was the first of three children born to John and Sarah Perry who were 24 and 20 years of age, respectively, when he was born. John married Jane Bent by banns on 31 October 1796 in Dudley St Thomas.^[2] They had five children together before Jane died in 1809 at the age of 34 years.
