Hi A,

Thanks for providing an estimated birth date for Vorssila Petřička (abt.1666-1736).

When you create such estimates, you might wish to use the { {Estimated Date|Birth}} template, but regardless, it would be most helpful to explain how you came up with the estimate in a = = Research Notes = = section. This way we do not lose the thought you put into the estimate and others can understand your thinking.

Thanks.

Thanks for the advise, William. I do not see { {Estimated Date|Birth}} template, only "about/uncertain".

I updated Vorssila Petřička (abt.1666-1736) to provide an example, however, now that I see the estimate is within a single year, the need to using the estimated date template is greatly diminished. Normally one would use that when for example, a birth is estimated from the birth of a spouse or the birth of a child, and thus an explanation of how the birth was estimated is much more important. When the death recard says aged 70, that is much more precise and thus probably does not need the template to call it out.

Hi A.,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).
