...being American is more than a pride we inherit. It’s the past we step into and how we repair it. The Hill We Climb, Amanda Gorman
I live in Denver, Colorado. I would like to acknowledge that Denver is located on land belonging to the Arapahoe, Cheyenne, and Ute people. Reconciliation is important to me. Even though I have a masters degree in American Civilization the activist summer of 2020 after the death of George Floyd completely made me reassess everything I thought I knew about my country. Then in 2021 I began learning more about my own family and went from only knowing my immigrant story from my dad's side to discovering that my mom's family was part of the Puritan Great Migration. Many ancestors were active at the foundation of both places and concepts that we learn about in general history. I am still processing what that means.
To aid WikiTree in the administration of my account should I be incapacitated, or in the event of my death, I hereby give permission for all private profiles I'm managing to be transferred to able WikiTreers, whether or not they are currently on the Trusted Lists: ... This process should be guided with the input of my children Marina Santos and Sonia Santos.

Thank you for signing up on the new space page https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:POW%27s_Who_Died_in_Andersonville_Prison, whose purpose is to steadily create profiles for the 12,681 soldiers buried in Andersonville National Cemetery.
Thank you again for joining the Challenge.
That sounds great! I have about 6 more Bakers left on my original challenge. I'll be able to finish by the end of March. And if (when) I get a new computer I will be able to add all the photos.
Best regards!
I am finishing today my work on the POWs who were Bakers.
There are 3 pages of Thompsons that I would tackle this April, if that works?

I am glad I could help, once I learned what I was doing! The German Genies are wonderful!
Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles!
It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

We are so happy you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level.
Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. They will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.
Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.
Questions? You can always use the G2G link in the Help Menu to find answers.
You mentioned that you don’t know much about your family tree yet. I assume you are new to genealogy. No problem! Every genealogist is a beginner at some point. Take your time, keep track of sources, and ask questions. Check here for tips.

I would like to "adopt" one of my great grandfather's profiles that seems to be an orphan. How should I do that?
Check out the orphaned profile topics here: Orphaned Profiles. You also might want to check out WIkiTree a bit also.
Enjoy your journey! Sheryl
