Biography

Bonnie (Napier) Day was adopted Sometime between 1976 and 1979
Location: Toledo Ohio
Adoptive Parents Biological Parents
Father: Richard Day Father: Unknown Fox
Mother: Kathleen Witkos Mother: Judith Hight

I was born on 3 April 1968 in Toledo, Ohio. My name at birth was Yvonne Marie Napier. I am legally a Napier. My siblings and I refuse to see ourselves as anything else as siblings no matter what our DNA says.
My biological father was a member of the Fox family. I may never know which one as at least two are deceased, along with their children, and my closest DNA matches are 1st and 2nd cousins.
It was my step father who signed my Birth Certificate at my birth.
I was adopted into the Day family sometime between 1975 and 1979 in Toledo, Ohio. Before that I spent time as a Ward of the County in Maumee Valley Children's Home and various foster homes around the area.
I have many half-siblings and two adopted siblings that I know of. It's not known if I have any blood siblings.
My biological mother passed away in January 2020. As far as I know, my biological father passed away around 2013.
I took a DNA test with My Heritage in September 2021, and then with Ancestry. I am slowly working through what I can. I also uploaded my DNA at places like FamilyTree, DNA Portal, and GedMatch to help find family.
Recently it's come to my attention that, due to the adoption, I am my own 19 cousin 1x removed. It may creep closer over time and as I build my tree. When checking connections to me, please check both links. Thank you.
This is a work in progress.

Well, we have biological connections to the village of Anjoutey, Territoire de Belfort, Franche-Comté, as well on another tangent, and the surname Sauvageot in that exact region. It was a big family but a regional kind of surname. I will look around and see if we are related back there!

Had no clue!!!!! I am still trying to make sense of my French ties. I know that Great Grandfather Harry used his mother's surname and never knew who his dad!

Hello Bonnie,

We are happy you came back to the Northwest Terriers for April's Connect-a-thon. As of this writing, you have contributed 35 profiles. Join us on the Discord channel or the G2G Team Chat page for any questions, comments, or just for fun chatting.

Remember, you must have at least one valid source for each profile you create. The source is the identification of where you obtained information. A family tree is not a source.

See https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Sources for the methods used for sourcing if needed.

Scoring results can be found here.

Thanks for your help!!

Hi Bonnie,

I noticed you used the Challenge Tracker to track changes during last month's Sourcerers' Challenge. Please consider officially joining us for the Sourcerers' Challenge. You can find information, including how to join, on the Sourcerers Project page. To get directly to the current G2G thread, here's the March Challenge thread.

No pressure, every profile with a source makes our WikiTree better. Your work will continue to be included on the Tracking Sheet even if you do not register.

Your work is appreciated. Thanks for sourcing!

Hi Bonnie,

First, not sure which Joseph E. Caldwell B. 14 Aug 1854 in Curtisville, Tipton, Indiana/Died 13 Feb 1912 at age 57 in Curtisville, Tipton, Indiana, who's my maternal GGU. Or, Joseph B Caldwell B. Abt 1843 [uncertain] in Indiana, United States my 2GGU. Additionally, I see you are my 18C 1XR. Is this based on DNA or from the Wiki Tree? I searched on Ancestry & the only Bonnie I'm DNA-related to is Bonnie Hart. I've updated the Profile of Joseph my GGU (b 1854) with sources & will do the same for Joseph my 2GGU if I can locate any sources soon. I'm also adding additional relatives. I will help you any way I can. Take care, Hal

Napier-3712 and Fox-23185 are not ready to be merged because: This is the correct match for the one that I just submitted I accidentally tried to connect my adoptive father to myself.

Day-5491 and Fox-23185 are not ready to be merged because: Both profiles are mine. One is for my biological tree where I have DNA attached. And the other is for my adopted family. No one has done a family tree for them yet and they don't have ancestry accounts so I went with wiki Tree.

Hi Bonnie,

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Welcome to Wikitree Yvonne,

We are so happy you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level.

Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. They will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.

Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.

Hello Yvonne

Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email we sent has useful links that will help you get started.

WikiTree is unique among genealogy sites in that our goal is to have One Profile per person. We are growing a shared global tree in which we collaborate as a team of researchers.

After you have confirmed your e-mail address, you may wish to add YOUR family branches by becoming a Volunteer. If so, indicate your genealogy interests by filling in TAGs for surnames you want to research, like GARCIA or a location, like SWEDEN. Include a comment on why each TAG is meaningful to you. Make sure to click the "Enter Tag(s) and Volunteer" button and a Greeter will follow-up in confirming your membership.

Thank you for visiting WikiTree. --Rod

Hi ,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Thanks, Bonnie. You are now a member of the WikiTree community. Welcome!

Options for getting started:

Key Concepts:

1. Sourcing makes the difference between genealogy and mythology.

2. In order to build one collaborative tree, each person must have only ONE profile.

Let me or another Mentor Team member know if you have questions.
