• Paternal relationship is confirmed by a triangulated group on AncestryDNA who share a 15 cM segment on chromosome 2, consisting of Lukas Murphy and Pam (Dale) Fraley, his 6th cousin 1x removed, and D (Willoughby) Hicks, his 6th cousin. (Pam and D are 6th cousins 1x removed.) Their most-recent common ancestors are David Trimble and Lucinda Lacy, the 5x great grandparents of Lukas Murphy, 6x great grandparents of Pam (Dale) Fraley and 5x great grandparents of D (Willoughby) Hicks.

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is a great way to start.

You mentioned that you don’t know much about your family tree yet. I assume you are new to genealogy. No problem! Every genealogist is a beginner at some point. Take your time, keep track of sources, and ask questions. Check here for tips.

How's everything going? You might be finding duplicate profiles now. We have a Help Page to help you learn what to do with them. Be sure to check for your pending merges by going to FIND, PENDING MERGES, and sort for those waiting on you. Upon completing a merge, be sure to clean up/edit the Biography as ALL information from both profiles are copied and remove any duplicate info.

If you want updates on surnames you can add them by going to MY WIKITREE, NAV HOME PAGE, scroll down to just below WIKI GENEALOGY FEED to EDIT FOLLOWED SURNAMES. You can add up to 20.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those situations.
