Biography

Leander Hoskins Miner was born on the 9th of March, 1851 in Wisconsin. His parents were Alan Miner and his second wife Emeline Wolcott.

By 1860 he was living in Mitchell Township, Mitchell, Iowa.

He married Ella Elizabeth Scouten on the 4th of April, 1871 in Mitchell, Iowa.

They had their first two children while living in Iowa. Almeda Emeline and Charles Allen Miner.

By May, 1876 the family had settled in Humboldt, California where Leander completed a voter registration. They had five more children together, Mabel Clara, Ella, Cyrus William, Cavey E. and Helene Miner.

In 1930 Leander was living in Portland, Oregon where his daughter Almeda E. Miner had been living since at least 1910.

Leander Hoskins Miner passed away on the 10th of June, 1933 in Oakland, California and was buried in Ferndale, Humboldt, California.^[1]
