Biography

Zachary Lewis Meriwether was born about 1750 (guess / placeholder). He was the son of Frank and Mary Lewis Meriwether. [1]

Zachary married first to Jane Lewis, daughter of John Lewis and Ann Lewis about 1779. Two daughters:

  1. Ann "Nancy" Meriwether, 1779 - 1845
  2. Mary Lewis Meriwether, 1781 - 1844

He married second to Rachel Logan, daughter of John Logan Sr. and Rachel Flood on 11 Jan 1787 in South Carolina. Their children:

  1. Sarah Meriwether, 1787 - 1809
  2. Huldah Meriwether, 1789 - 1849
  3. Zachary Meriwether, Jr., 1791 - 1856
  4. Margaret Meriwether, 1793 - 1816
  5. Frederick Meriwether, 1793 - 1855
  6. Francis Lewis Meriwether, 1804 - 1881
  7. Elizabeth Rachel Meriwether, 1807 - 1831

Zachary is named in the will of his father: "Son, Zachary - half of 417 acres I bought from Eveleigh's estate on Rockey Creek" [The tiny url above does not work.] He is also named as an executor of his father's will. [3]
