Biography

Catherine McManus married Howard Kennedy in Russell, Manitoba. Howard worked for the telephone department and the family relocated to Fort William, Ontario (later Thunder Bay) in the 40s, where they lived at 539 McTavish. Catherine died young, leaving her husband and three daughters. The girls were raised by their grandmother Catherine Dolan McManus following their mother's death. ^[1]

Immigration Catherine McManus aged 3, took ship SS Cassandra from Glasgow on 27 Aug 1920 with her parents and siblings and arrived in Quebec on 5 Sep 1920. Her birthplace was Colton (sic), Glasgow, Scotland and she was of British descent with a British passport. She was a Catholic and her destination was her grandparents: John McManus, Box 96 Russell, Maniotba. Her nearest relative to her point of origin was her grandfather, Mr. John Dolan, 254 Main, St., Shettleston, Glasgow. She had a pale complexion, auburn hair and dark brown eyes.^[4][5]
