Biography

Mary (Mayoh) Saines was born in the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)

Mary Ann Mayoh was born at Young, Colony of New South Wales, on the 14th of March 1864, the daughter of William Mayoh and Elizabeth Wilson.[1]

Annie Mayoh married Frank Saines at Young, Colony of New South Wales in 1886.[2]

They had:

  1. Ernest.
  2. Percy.
  3. Albert.
  4. Maud Neal.
  5. May Neal.

Fourteen grandchildren, one deceased, and three gr. grandchildren in 1936, 50th Wedding Anniversary.

50 Years Of Married Life GOLDEN WEDDING CELE- BRATION. AT BEDSIDE OF SICK WIFE. HOSPITAL GAY. Married at St, John's Church, Young, 50 years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Saines, of Fairview, Kings- vale Road, celebrated their golden wedding on Sunday. Mrs. Saines has been an inmate of the Young District Hospital for ten weeks, and the family gathered at her bedside for the celebration. A lovely cake, iced white and decorated with golden leaves, was cut and distributed amongst other patients at the hospital, a gracious deed which was much ap- preciated by all. Mr. and Mrs. Saines were the re- cipients of numerous congratulatory telegrams and nice presents. There are three sons, Percy, of "Rosewood," Monteagle, and Ernest and Albert, Young. Mrs. Ellwood Neal (Greenethorpe) and Mrs. Victor Neal (Iandra) are daughters. There are fourteen grandchildren (one deceased) and three great grand- children. Mrs. Saines, who is the eldest daughter of Mrs. Wm. Mayoh, of Moppity, Young, is 72, and her hus- band is 71. The golden wedding cake was made by Mr. N. C. Smith, of Lynch Street.

Annie Saines passed away on the 14th of February 1937 at Young, New South Wales.[3]

Obituary.

The death occurred at the Young District Hospital, of Mrs Frank Saines 73 who lived most of her life on the Klngsvale road. Her golden: wedding was celebrated In hospital on 17th May last year. The late Mrs. Saines was born at Moppity, Young, her parents being the late Mr. and Mrs. W. Mayoh. She resided at Wombat for a short time, and later was married at Young to Mr Frank, Saines who survives her. Sons are Ernest, Percival, and Albert, Young, and daughters, Mrs. E. Neale, Greene 'thorpe and Mrs. V. Neale, Iandra There are 14 grandchildren, and four: great grandchildren. Slsters are Mrs L. Lowe, Claremont (Q.) ; Mrs. A McMahon, Coonamble; Mrs. C. Butler, and Mrs. G. Butler, .both of Sandy, Creek. Brothers are. Messrs. J. Mayoh, Quainbone, and I. ('Mick'.') Mayoh, of. Sydney.
