Elizabeth Mayer was born c.1713,[1][2] and is believed to be the daughter of John Meyer and Barbara Landis.[3]

She married Christian Eby [3][2] whose family had immigrated with hers, and they settled on Hammer Creek in Lancaster County, PA. Between 1734 and 1755 they had ten children - seven boys and three girls. [4]

Elizabeth died on December 12, 1787. [5]

Notes

The profile for Elizabeth's father-in-law, Theodorus Eby, gives that they arrived in Pennsylvania in 1715 and settled in Mill Creek, Lancaster County. At first glance this might suggest that Elizabeth was connected to the Mühlbach Meyer family. A history of that family reports that Henry Meyer arrived at Mill Creek in the early 1720's, and that his daughters all "went south". However there was also a Hans (John) Meyer in the area, believed to be brother to Henry.[6]

If Elizabeth's father, tentatively identified by Best [3] as John Meyer (m. Barbara Landis), were brother to Henry Meyer, then Henry could not also have been brother to Hans Meyer (m. Anna Brubaker) as theorised by Davis.[7] Further research is needed to clarify.
