Mary (Mackenzie) Stewart Mackenzie is a member of Clan Mackenzie.

Mary was born in 1783[1] in Tarradale Cromarty shire. Mary Mackenzie ...was the eldest daughter and heiress of Francis Mackenzie, 1st Baron Seaforth. Also known as "Lady Hood Mackenzie", or by the sobriquet "The Hooded Lassie",

Mary, married Vice Admiral Sir Samuel Hood on 6 November 1804. [2]

On the death of Sir Samuel, Mary married Alexander Stewart Mackenzie in May 1817. [3]

As Lewis Heritor, she gave encouragement to Baptists and preachers. She invited Evangelists to preach in the female seminary that she lead in Stornoway. She also aided Alexander Macleod the new Minister of Uig whom she encouraged to take up the post of preacher. At one point Macleod approached her to extend the church building in Uig.Macleod was later in the midst of a revival in UIg.

[4] She died in 1862 and was buried in Fortrose. She was Chief of the Clan Mackenzie being succeeded by her eldest son (Keith William Stewart-Mackenzie); this is disputed - see | wikipedia
