Petit-fils de Louis Lambert, fils de Jean Lambert et de Perrine Boucher (fille de Fermin Boucher et de Jeanne Patard), et filleul de Pierre Hébert, Odard Laigneau et Louise Lambert, Odard Lambert est baptisé en France le 9 janvier 1600 à Tourouvre dans l'église Saint-Aubin située dans le diocèse de Chartres de l'ancienne province du Perche.^[9][10][11]

Odard Lambert exerce la profession de laboureur, de manœuvre et collecteur de la taille,^[9] mais il est, comme son fils ainé Aubin, surtout membre du groupe des journaliers souvent misérables.^[12]

Il épousa Jacqueline Feillard, fille de David Feillard et Mathurine Navarre,^[9] vers 1631 en France.

Il est décédé avant l'été 1670 à Tourouvre.^[1][3][13]

Aubin Lambert's family in Perche province

Grandson of Louis Lambert, son of Jean Lambert and Perrine Boucher (daughter of Fermin Boucher and Jeanne Patard), and godson of Pierre Hébert, Odard Laigneau and Louise Lambert, Odard Lambert was baptized in France on January 9, 1600 at Tourouvre in the Saint-Aubin church located in the diocese of Chartres of the old province of Perche.^[9][20][11]

Odard Lambert works as a plowman, laborer and tax collector,^[9] but he is, like his eldest son Aubin, above all a member of the group of often miserable day laborers. ^[12]

He married Jacqueline Feillard, daughter of David Feillard and Mathurine Navarre,^[9] around 1631 in France.

He died before the summer of 1670 in Tourouvre.^[1][14][21]

Quant au prénom Audax que l’on trouve dans l’acte du registre de mariage à Québec, en 1670, il s’agirait simplement d’une transcription incorrecte de Audare employé dans le contrat de mariage rédigé à Québec, en 1670, devant le notaire Romain Becquet. »

   • Dans la Note 1 en bas de p. 15 de 21, concernant l'original de l'acte de mariage de Aubin Lambert et Élisabeth Aubert du registre paroissial qui identifie 'Audax' comme père de Aubin Lambert :

     «  ‘Audare’ se prononce comme ‘Odard’ ou ‘Odoart’. Le rédacteur de l’acte de mariage dans le registre paroissial a probablement voulu reproduire la forme ‘Audare’ employée en première page du contrat de mariage passé devant le notaire Becquet le même jour. Une erreur de lecture lui aura fait écrire ‘Audax’. Le prénom véritable de notre ancêtre est ‘Odard’. »

4. ↑ Cette dernière Note 2 en bas de p. 10 de 21 du Document 256-bio par Réal Aubin est quasiment identique aux remarques dans la rubrique 'Observation' de l'extrait intitulé « 1670, 4 septembre : Mariage d'Aubin Lambert & Isabelle (Élisabeth) Aubert » en p. 36 du livre par G&R Aubin publié presque deux décennies plus tôt en 1996.
5. ↑ Le prénom 'Odard' du père de Aubin Lambert qui figure sans réserve dans le Fichier Origine, de la biographie de l'ALA et dans la notice du PREFEN est cohérent avec le prénom 'Audare' dans le contrat de mariage de Aubin Lambert et Élisabeth Aubert et le prénom 'Audax' dans la PRDH: Research Programme in Historical Demography (membership): Acte: 66946 transcription par le PRDH et l'original rédigé par le curé de Bernières du registre paroissiale de mariage de Aubin Lambert et Élisabeth Aubert si l'on tient compte de l'affirmation de Réal Aubin mentionnée en Note 2 ci-haut à l'effet que « 'Audare' est un homophone de 'Odard'. » et qu'il « s’agirait simplement d’une transcription incorrecte de Audare employé dans le contrat de mariage rédigé à Québec, en 1670. »
6. ↑ Étant donné que les noms du PRDH sont soumis à une standardisation, il est intéressant de trouver qu'il y dans les actes particuliers deux variations du prénom pour le père de Aubin Lambert comme suit :

   i. Audax ii. Odard (Voir i. PRDH: Research Programme in Historical Demography (membership): Acte: 66946 PRDH Acte 66946 ii. PRDH: Research Programme in Historical Demography (membership): Individu: 42640 PRDH Individu 42640 ).

   De plus, le résultat de recherches de variation de prénom, et de leur standard associé est comme suit:

   La seule mention du prénom 'Audax' dans un acte de la base de données du PRDH est donc celle dans le registre paroissial du mariage du 29 septembre 1670, et, puisque la fréquence est '1', 'Audax' est forcément une exception plutôt qu'un prénom standard, les prénoms 'Audax' et 'Odard' étant le père de Aubin.
7. ↑ Selon la p. 381 de la causerie présentée par Réal Aubin il y plus de trois décennies passées en 1989 :

   « C’est donc dans la foulée joyeuse d’une fête paroissiale que les jeunes époux, Odoard Lambert – “Audax“ Lambert est une erreur du rédacteur d’un registre à Québec – Jacqueline Feillard font baptiser leur premier enfant. »

8. ↑ Parmi tous les écrits par Réal Aubin, la première mention du prénom 'Odard' est faite en p. 19 de son article « Élisabeth Aubert, "Fille du roi", 1648-1690 » publié en 2012 :

   « Le jeudi 4 septembre 1670, Élisabeth (Isabelle) Aubert ... ainsi que son prétendant Aubin Lambert dit Champagne, 38 ans, fils majeur de défunt Odard Lambert et de Jacqueline Feillard, se trouve à Québec ... »

10. ↑ Selon la coutume, Odard Lambert aurait porté le prénom que lui fut donné à son baptême par Odard Laigneau, un de ses deux parrains.
    - D'après Sangoï 1985, par. 4 : « ... le filleul recevait le jour de son baptême le prénom de son parrain, la filleule celui de sa marraine ; cela dans la quasi-totalité des pays de la chrétienté dès le XVIe siècle (et peut-être même avant). »
    - D'après Fine 1987, p. 858 : « Ici comme dans la quasi-totalité des régions françaises, c’est un privilège exclusif des parrains de nommer l’enfant au baptême. L’expression « nommer au baptême » dans le sens « d’être parrain » était employée encore couramment en Basse-Normandie jusqu’à la dernière guerre … »
11. ↑ ^{11.0 11.1} Tourouvre est depuis le 1^e janvier 2016 reconnue comme nouvelle commune française de Tourouvre-au-Perche située dans le département de l'Orne en région Normandie. Cette nouvelle commune regroupe les anciennes communes d'Autheuil, Bivilliers, Bresolettes, Bubertré, Champs, Lignerolles, La Poterie-au-Perche, Prépotin, Randonnai et Tourouvre qui deviennent des communes déléguées.

13. ↑ On se pose la question à savoir s'il est plausible que selon PREFEN Notice Aubin Lambert :

    « Il [Odard] décède avant le 6 mai 1657, date d’une quittance passée en présence de sa veuve Jacqueline Feuillard.  »

    • In Note 2 at the bottom of p. 10 of 21, concerning the transcription of the baptism of Aubin Lambert from June 30, 1632 which identifies 'odard' as the father of Aubin Lambert:

      “Audare is a homophone of Odard. It is this last name that I attribute to the father of Aubin Lambert. I thus adopt the reading that Mrs. Pierre Montagne has made of the ancient manuscripts preserved in Tourouvre, rather than the Odoard form chosen by René Jetté or the Odoart form preferred by other researchers. As for the first name Audax found in the act of the marriage register in Quebec, in 1670, it would simply be an incorrect transcription of Audare used in the marriage contract drawn up in Quebec, in 1670, before the notary Romain Becquet. »

    • In Note 1 at the bottom of p. 15 of 21, concerning the original marriage certificate of Aubin Lambert and Élisabeth Aubert from the parish register which identifies 'Audax' as the father of Aubin Lambert:

      “'Audare' is pronounced like 'Odard' or 'Odoart'. The writer of the marriage certificate in the parish register probably wanted to reproduce the form ‘Audare’ used on the first page of the marriage contract passed before the notary Becquet on the same day. A reading error caused him to write 'Audax'. The real first name of our ancestor is ‘Odard’. »

15. ↑ This last Note 2 at the bottom of p. 10 of 21 of Document 256-bio by Réal Aubin is almost identical to the remarks in the 'Observation' section of the extract entitled “1670, September 4: Marriage of Aubin Lambert & Isabelle (Élisabeth) Aubert” on p. 36 of the book by G&R Aubin published almost two decades earlier in 1996.
16. ↑ The first name 'Odard' of Aubin Lambert's father which figures unreservedly in the Fichier Origine, from ALA biography and in the notice du PREFEN is consistent with the first name 'Audare' in the [https: //www.wikitree.com/photo.php/3/37/Lambert-772.pdf marriage contract of Aubin Lambert and Élisabeth Aubert] and the first name 'Audax' in the PRDH: Research Programme in Historical Demography (membership): Acte: 66946 PRDH transcription and the original written by the parish priest of Bernières of the parish register of marriage of Aubin Lambert and Élisabeth Aubert if we take into account Réal Aubin's assertion mentioned in Note 2 above to the effect that “'Audare' is a homophone of 'Odard'.” and that it “would simply be an incorrect transcription of Audare employed in the contract of marriage drafted in Quebec, in 1670.”
17. ↑ Since the names of the PRDH are subject to standardization, it is interesting to find that there are two variations of the first name in the particular acts for the father of Aubin Lambert as follows:

    i. Audax ii. Odard (See i. PRDH: Research Programme in Historical Demography (membership): Acte: 66946 PRDH Acte 66946 ii. PRDH: Research Programme in Historical Demography (membership): Individu: 42640 PRDH Individu 42640 ).

    In addition, the result searches, for given name variation, and their associated standard is as follows:

    The only mention of the first name 'Audax' in an act in the PRDH database is therefore that in the parish marriage register of September 29, 1670, and, since the frequency is '1', 'Audax' is necessarily an exception rather than a standard first name. The first names 'Audax' and 'Odard' are for Aubin Lambert's father.
18. ↑ According to p. 381 of the talk presented by Réal Aubin more than three decades ago in 1989:

    " It is therefore in the joyful stride of a parish feast that the young couple, Odoard Lambert – “Audax“ Lambert is an error by the editor of a register in Quebec – Jacqueline Feillard had their first child baptized.”

19. ↑ Among all the writings by Réal Aubin, the first mention of the first name 'Odard' is made on p. 19 of her article "Élisabeth Aubert, "Fille du roi", 1648-1690" published in 2012:

    “On Thursday, September 4, 1670, Élisabeth (Isabelle) Aubert ... as well as her suitor Aubin Lambert dit Champagne, 38, adult son of the late Odard Lambert and Jacqueline Feillard, were in Quebec ... ”

20. ↑ According to custom, Odard Lambert would have borne the first name given to him at his baptism by Odard Laigneau, one of his two godfathers.
    - According to Sangoï 1985, par. 4: “... the godchild received the first name of his godfather on the day of his baptism, the goddaughter that of his godmother; this in almost all the countries of Christianity from the 16th century (and perhaps even before). »
    - According to Fine 1987, p. 858: “Here, as in almost all French regions, it is the exclusive privilege of the godparents to name the child at baptism. The expression "to name at baptism" in the sense of "to be godfather" was still commonly used in Lower Normandy until the last war..."
21. ↑ We wonder whether it is plausible that according to PREFEN Notice Aubin Lambert:

    “He [Odard] died before May 6, 1657, the date of a receipt passed in the presence of his widow Jacqueline Feuillard. »
