Biography

Abigail Lakin/Laken was born in 1667 in Groton, Middlesex, MA. She was the daughter of John Lakin and Mary Bacon.^[1]

She married Samuel Parker, son of James Parker and Elizabeth Long, in about 1685 and they had eight known children. "Samuel(2) [James(l)] lived in Groton. He d. before Nov. 12, 1712, when his s's. James and Samuel were appointed administrators of his estate. He m. Abigail, dau. of John Lakin, who m. (2) Feb. 7, 1721, Robert Dickson or Dixon."^[2] Their children were:

1. James Parker, b. Apl. 28, 1686.
2. Robert Parker, b. Apl. 2, 1688; probably d. in childhood.
3. Samuel Parker, b. 1690
4. John Parker, 1694
5. Abigail Parker, b. Aug. 22, 1696; m. Thomas Tarbell.
6. Jonathan Parker, b. 1698
7. Rachel Parker, 1699; m. Obadiah Sawtell.
8. Eunice Parker, b. Mch. 11, 1705; m. Josiah Boyden.

She died after 1722.^[1] The date on her Find A Grave Memorial (13 Mar 1722) in Groton, Middlsex, MA is the death date of Abigail (French) Parker, not that of Abigail Dickson.^[3]

• Prior to 1752, the first month of the year was March. Hence her birthdate is not January, but March.
