Biography

Elizabeth Judd, eldest daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Judd, was born say, 1633. [1] Where was Elizabeth born? She may have been born in England and brought to Massachusetts as a baby. Her father first shows up in the colonial records on 4 May 1634, granted 4 acres in the West End of Cambridge, Massachusetts.[1]
Elizabeth was a toddler when her parents removed from Cambridge to the newly formed wilderness town of Hartford, Connecticut in 1636.[1] Ten years later, her parents moved the family again, going ten miles east to the newly forming town of Farmington, Connecticut.[1] After her mother Elizabeth died, her father moved again, to Northampton, Massachusetts in 1679, but by that time Elizabeth was married and established in a home of her own.[1]
Elizabeth and Samuel Loomis lived in Farmington for the first years of their marriage.[2] They removed to Windsor in 1660, and lived there about fourteen years.[2] They removed to Westfield in about 1674.[2]
Samuel Loomis died in 1689 in Westfield, and Elizabeth was still alive there in 1716.[2]
Elizabeth Judd married Samuel Loomis, son of Joseph Loomis, in Farmington on 27 Dec 1653.[1] [2] They had ten children:[2]
Samuel, b. Farmington
Elizabeth, b. Farmington
Ruth, b. Windsor, 1660
Sarah, b. Windsor, 1662
Joanna, b. Windsor, 1665
Benjamin, b. Windsor, 1667

Philip, b. Westfield, 1675
Mary, b. Westfield, 161678
