Biography

Dorothy married William Phelps of Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. Her last name at birth is not known at this stage and should more properly be "Unknown".

After her husband's death in 1611, Dorothy was charged 8s 8d for her husband's grave and bells. ^[1]

Dorothy had her will drawn up on 16 Jun 1612, describing herself as a widow of Tewkesbury. ^[2]She requested burial in the church or churchyard of Tewkesbury and made bequests to:

• my brothers in law Nicholas and Edward Phelps
• my sister Frances Dowle
• my daughter Dorothy

• my daughter Mary

Her will was probated on 5 May 1617.
