Biography
Thomas was born in Missouri in 1818, the third son of William Pink Hudson and Julia Ann[1][2]. He married Emeline Johnson in Missouri in 1836[3][4], and had at least one, possibly two children by her. (David Hudson, born 1837, and Sarah Elizabeth, born 1843. It is unclear who Sarah's mother was; her Find A Grave bio[5] says, "[she] is mentioned as the daughter of Thomas Hudson and Emaline Johnson and also as the daughter of Thomas and Mary C. Piner Hudson in numerous documents." Her death certificate lists her mother as Polly Piner[6].)
Thomas was living in California by 1850 (Thomas' brothers William and David, and his brother-in-law Jack York had all participated in the Bear Flag Revolt which contributed to the transfer of control over the region from Mexico to the United States[2]) and had married Mary Catherine Piner[7][8][9][10]. He had more children by Mary[11], and passed away in 1868[1].
