William Pink Hudson was born in 1779 or 1783[1]. He married Juley Catron/Kettenring in 1801[2], and passed away in 1840[3].
The following was apparently copied over directly from William's Findagrave page[4]. I believe the information to be accurate and helpful. I did not create this profile, but have "adopted" it, as William was my 3rd great-grandfather. (Paul, 30 March 2021)
William Pink Hudson was born about 1783 in Montgomery County, Virginia The family have been completely unsuccessful at locating the parents of William, but the parents of his wife Julia are fairly documented (Kettenring/Gose). He is assumed by his descendants that he was a farmer, but also did a fair amount of buying and selling property during his lifetime such as 172 acres in Elk Creek in Grayson County, which he purchased in 1802. William and his family moved to White County, Tennessee on May 10, 1808 and again purchased land in White County. In the 1820 Missouri Census he was found to be in Howard County, in the Lafayette area. He also fought in the War of 1812.
William sold all of the parcels of land when he and his family moved from Lafayette County to Polk County, 18 Nov. 1837. William and his son Thomas were some of the first to buy land in Township 32, Range 25, Dade County. William purchased 80 acres in 1839. Dade County was actually formed in January 29, 1841.
William Pink Hudson married Julia (Uley) Catron on July 2, 1801 in Grayson County, Virginia. Both died in 1840, Julia on March 25, 1840 & William Pink on October 18, 1840, and both are buried in the Fox-Langford aka Hudson Cemetery.
The Hudsons apparently did quite well money wise because when they went to California they all seemed to have cash to buy large tracts of land.
Acknowledgement is given to Kendall Hudson, descendant of Martin Hudson, the first son of William Pink & Julia Hudson, for the History on the Hudson Family.
