Father: John Hopkins Howell according to some (no support found for "Hopkins" as middle name, but his mother's maiden name is said to have been Hopkins); James Howell by others, said to be his brother. Existence of James supported by a JSTOR article (following from James's profile, 14 November 2020):
James Howell is listed as a justice of the peace in "Public Officers in Virginia 1680." (King & Queen Co., 25 Feb. 1699), Virginia Magazine, I (1894), page 234[9]
The law designates the "Collector of His Majesties Chief Custom-houses in England, or any of his Majesties Plantations" to make entry and bonds, administer oaths and receive the duties. African Company letters instructed the Virginia agents that they were ". . . Impowered to collect the Duty of 10 per Cent granted by a late Act of Parliament to Settle the Trade to Africa. . ." See R.A.C. to James Howell, 23 April 1700, T 70/57, f. 157 vo., P.R.O.; R.A.C. to Edward Gill [sic] 3 April 1701, ibid., 172 ro. and vo.; R.A.C. to Henry Fielding, 16 Dec. 1701, T 70/58, 20-21, P.R.O.
Needed: Source for the second paragraph (it is not found in the cited JSTOR article). How James Howell serving as a Justice of the Peace for King & Queen County (25 February 1699) does anything other than show that there was a James Howell in Virginia in 1699. In other words, how does this fact or the information in the second paragraph support James being brother of John, husband of Mary Lane, and father of Mary Howell? Is "R.A.C. to" James Howell in 1700 and Henry Fielding in 1701 the basis for the claim? (Also, what does R.A.C. stand for?)
A search of JSTOR articles for John Howell returned too many to be useful, but I found the following of interest:
John Howell, "sometimes my servant", named in the 1617 will of Richard Everard (proved Essex, England; Thomas Byrd one of the witnesses).[10]
John Howell, servant, named as headright in 1637 Henrico County patent to Richard Greete.[11]
Additional searches revealed:

1639, John Fletcher sponsored by John Howell (Henrico County)[12]
1639, Thomas Gibson, sponsored by John Howell (Henrico County)[12]
There were two other John Howells listed:
1650, John Howell, sponsored by Stephen Charlton (Northampton County)[12]
1653, John Howell, sponsored by (Northumberland County)[12]
There were no James Howells listed.

father James Howell has been proposed, but I cannot find sources supporting it.
Lewis of Warner Hall: The History of a Family, Including the Genealogy of Descendants in Both the Male and Female Lines, Biographical Sketches of Its Members, and Their Descent from Other Early Virginia Families - pages 61 & 248 - calls Mary the half-sister of Frances, daughter of Henry Fielding (p 61) & Mary Lane, but also says Mary Lane was "Mrs. John Howell before she became Mrs. Henry Fielding" (p 248).
Mary Agnes is the daughter of Mary (Lane) Fielding and her first husband, James Howell. She is the half-sister of Frances Fielding, who is the daughter of Mary (Lane) Howell-Fielding's second husband.
Hi! I went with the option of "divorcing" her from Lewis-683 so that the three children that were attached to her but were not the children of Charles & his wife Mary Howell could stay connected.
Cheers, Liz
update 13 Nov. 2020. This comment was apparently about a profile that has since been merged with Mary Howell -
Elizabeth was born about 1773. Elizabeth Randolph ... She passed away about 1830.
The middle name of Agnes appears to have come in with Elizabeth Randolph (it has now been removed from this profile).
The MyHeritage citation appears to have come to the profile when this profile had been attached as wife of Charles Lilburne Lewis (but I cannot see it - the link leads me to a "subscribe" page). Added note to entry.

I've been working with Paula & we can merge Howell-106 & Howell-5783. Thanks!
Because the attached children are not known children of Charles & his wife, I think the best bet would be to disconnect Charles as husband.
Let me know if you would prefer detaching the father & merging this profile with Howell-106. Otherwise I'll remove her as his wife.
Cheers, Liz
update - this comment was about a different profile, since merged into Howell-106
