Biography

On 13 Jun 1900 at the time of the 1900 US Census, head of household John J. Hover (age 36, born Jul 1864 in NY) was employed as a Life Insurance Agent and living in a house he rented at 3501 Roberts Street in Kansas City, Missouri with his wife Emma E. Hover (age 33, born Jun 1867 in IL); son Clarence A. Hover (age 6, born Aug 1894 in MO); son Frank Hover (age 4, born Mar 1896 in MO); stepfather Eli S. Tuthill (age 70, born Sep 1830 in NY); mother Prue A. Tuthill (age 65, born Jun 1835 in NY); and sister-in-law Laura B. Stanley (age 41, born Jul 1859 in IL). John and Emma had been married for 11 years; Emma had given birth to 2 children, both of whom were still alive at that time. Both of John's parents were born in New York; Emma's father was born in Indiana and her mother in New York. ^[1]
