Biography

On 27 Jun 1867, Emma Eva Cole was born to David John Cole and Mary Jane Ridgeway. ^[1]

On 13 Jun 1900 at the time of the 1900 US Census, head of household John J. Hover (age 36, born Jul 1864 in NY) was employed as a Life Insurance Agent and living in a house he rented at 3501 Roberts Street in Kansas City, Missouri with his wife Emma E. Hover (age 33, born Jun 1867 in IL); son Clarence A. Hover (age 6, born Aug 1894 in MO); son Frank Hover (age 4, born Mar 1896 in MO); stepfather Eli S. Tuthill (age 70, born Sep 1830 in NY); mother Prue A. Tuthill (age 65, born Jun 1835 in NY); and sister-in-law Laura B. Stanley (age 41, born Jul 1859 in IL). John and Emma had been married for 11 years; Emma had given birth to 2 children, both of whom were still alive at that time. Both of John's parents were born in New York; Emma's father was born in Indiana and her mother in New York. ^[2]

On 7 May 1910 at the time of the 1910 US Census, head of household William J. Dyer (age 52, born in Canada) was employed as a Farmer and living on a farm he rented in Boulder, Colorado with his wife Emma E. Dyer (age 43, born in IL); stepson Frank Hover (age 14, born in MO); and stepdaughter Margaret Hover (age 6, born in CO). William and Emma had been married for 2 years. Emma had given birth to 3 children, 2 of whom were still alive at that time. Both of William's parents were born in Switzerland; Emma's father was born in New York and her mother in Missouri. ^[3]
