Biography

Albert Hotard was born in Louisiana in1805, a son of Mathieu Hotard and Marie Marcellite Bourgeois.

In 1823, he married Marguerite Elise Folse, daughter of Alexis Folse and Marcellite Hotard.[1] Children:

  1. Rosa Marguerite Hotard b: 30 JAN 1831 in Thibodaux, Lafourche Parish, Louisiana
  2. Victor Albert Hotard b: 15 MAR 1833 in Thibodaux, Lafourche Parish, Louisiana
  3. Marie Elodie Hotard b: 31 MAR 1835/1836 in Thibodaux, Lafourche Parish, Louisiana
  4. Marie Eliza Hotard b: 28 APR 1835 in Thibodaux, Lafourche Parish, Louisiana
  5. Marie Aima Hotard b: 12 JUN 1837 in Thibodaux, Lafourche Parish, Louisiana
  6. Adele Marie Otilie Hotard b: 14 MAR 1840/1841 in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana
  7. Adelaide Hotard b: ABT 1842 in Louisiana
  8. Marie Theodelia Hotard b: 25 OCT 1846 in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana
  9. Charles Hotard (1849- 1943)[2]

By 1850, they had moved to the section of Vacherie called Steibville.[3] Oubre also states on page 301 that Albert Hotard and Marguerite Elisa (Folse) Hotard lived at Golden Star Plantation in 1850. Golden Star Plantation is located in lower Vacherie, near Lac Des Allemands.

He died before 1870.
