Biography
Wilhelm as a child of Friedrich Barbarossa and Beatrix von Burgund, is only known from the epitaph for several Staufer at the Lorch monastery: Tres fratres horum scribuntur nomina, quorum/Renbolt, Wilhelmus et tercius est Fridericus,/Et soror his quinis est combinata Beatrix.[1] An evaluation of the known number of children of Beatrix von Burgund and the dates of the children whose births are documented leads Assmann to propose Jun or Jul of 1175 as his birthdate,[2]
