C. Preston Helms was born December 9, 1898 to Core Lucian Helms and Lula Phillips. He married Eva Ellen Baucom on married August 24, 1921 in Clear Creek Township, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.[1] Following her death in 1934[2], he married Minnie L (possibly Long). He died October 4, 1974.[3] Eva and Preston are buried at Oakboro Cemetery[4]

- C. Preston Helms is my grandfather's brother and was the husband of Eva Baucom. Uncle Preston and Aunt Eva's children are my double cousins because Momma's sister married Daddy's brother
