Biography
Joan Hathaway was born in Warwickshire, England.
Joan Hathaway was the daughter of Richard Hathaway. husbandman, of Shottery, a small village about a mile west of the market town of Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire.
She was baptised on 9 May 1566 at Holy Trinity, Stratford, and entered in the parish register as "Johanna filia Richardi Hathaway als Gardner de Shotery."[1]
She is thought to have died young because her father did not mention her when he made his will in September 1581.[2][3] There is no record of his burial in the parish registers of Holy Trinity, Stratford.
