Biography

Ann Hastings was born 1769 in Ireland and died May 18, 1854. She married William Macklem.[1][2]

The Petition of William Macklem of York Yoeman Humbly herewith - That he is lately come from Pennsylvania where he followed the business of Farming. Hath a Wife and Seven Children, also two oxen, one Mare, two Milch Cows, and a Cart loaded with sundrie Articles to the Value of One Hundred Pounds. Being much attached to the British government comes into this Province the 29th of June last and Wishes to become a Settler. Your Petitioner therefore humbly prays that his Excellency will be pleased to grant him such a Quantity of Land as in his Wisdom and goodness shall see fit and your Petitioner as in duty bound shall ever pray.
