Private Christian (Hartzel) Hartzell served with 4th Battalion, Northampton County Militia, Pennsylvania Militia during the American Revolution.

Christian Hartzell was born around 1736[citation needed] or 1747.[1] His parents were Hans Leonard Hartzell and Maria Magdalena Theren,[1] who settled in Williams Township, Northampton, Pennsylvania, United States by 1737.[1]

He married Anna Maria Bruch[1][2] around 1770.[citation needed]

Together they had children:

  2. Elizabeth Herzel, married Jacob[1][2] Hagenfuss[1] aka Hasenfus.[2]
