Hi JJ,

I am a descendant of George Tucker, who died in 1801 in Randolph County, NC. He is my 5th great grandfather. WikiTree shows that you are the manager. On WikiTree you show George Tucker being born 1747 in Randolph County, NC. Do you have any info or records regarding his birth date or birth place? If so, could you please email me a copy or let me know where I can view it. My family tree shows that George Tucker's son William Tucker (my 4th great grandfather) was born about 1750, but that would be impossible if his father George Tucker was born on in 1747. Can you please let me know. Hi, it's been a couple of weeks since asking if you wished to remain in the US Civil War Between the States Project. I'd appreciate you letting me know by the end of February if you desire to remain in the Project. If I haven't heard from you by then, I'll assume you no longer wish to participate. I hope to hear from you soon, thank you.

I guess I am a little unsure what I need to do to contribute to the Civil War Project. I have several relatives who served in the war between the stat4s. Three Union soldiers from Illinois, Vermont, Alabama (white Calvary) and One Confederate side in the battle in the Missouri boot 1861. I have one relative who was too old to fight so he organized Union Militia in Wisconsin and Illinois.

I also live in the Kansas City area where a number of fights happened over rather Kansas would come in as a Union or Conferate state. I don’t if you have heard of Quantrill’s Raiders, but they where very active out here (1861-1865) We even had two capitals for the territory, One pro slavery and one anti slavery. They burned the city of Lawrence. They killer a ciriut rider minister. Please tell me what I should be doing and I may need a mentor to get it right. Thank you. Sent from Mail for Windows

Hi, I'm willing to help you in whatever way you need. Starting with your ancestors profiles is the best way to learn. The Project page has good resources, pictures, stickers https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:US_Civil_War:_War_Between_the_States On your gggrandfather profile I added categories to his unit and that he died of injuries, if you look on the bottom of his profile page you'll see a box for categories, those categories will link him to the Civil War Project: James Tarbox Flint

Hello, J. J.

Do you have sources to substantiate your claim that Elizabeth was the daughter of John Peter Hartzell? My records are indicating she was most likely a daughter of John Leonard Hartzel. I suggest consulting with the profile manager before adding her to John Leonard, though.

Thanks!

My Dad served in the army-air force during ww11 in india!! He was there for nearly 2yrs 1944-1946. He care of planes that flew the Burma hump. I tell you this because there are not too many men there. The only other one I knew was our neighbor and I read Steven Spielberg's father was there.

Hi JJJ Flint! When I click on your familysearch link, it says it can't be found and is coming up as a blank screen. My interest was any HUFF submissions to WikiTree. And to promote the notion that they must have actual primary source (or other authoritative sources or at least good arguments that are included in the bio texts)...and NOT just stuff that gets copies from others' family trees.) Seems like you've figured out now that William Nathan Huff was most unlikely to have been a son of the Leonard Huff who is profiled at Huff-242. So far, it seems that that particular Leonard had a son named William and also had a son name Nathan...but not a son named William Nathan... Getting these things sorted out can be challenging! especially, there's a lot of really flaky info "out there" in Ancestry and places like that, where documentation has been slim to none.

Yes I would be glad to help on the project. I live about 25 miles from the LDS library in Independence MO. In looks like they will be opening their resourses to everyone in the metro via our library cards, if that would help.

The John County library has a Midwest. With in that there is "American Ancestors" by New England Historic Genealogical Society that i can join if that would be helpful.

Hi J.J.,

Thanks for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Collaboration with Pre-1700 Project members is essential for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because those ancestors are usually shared by many descendants.

It looks like the United States Project would be a good fit based on your branch of WikiTree. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.

Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)

Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See:https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles#Cite_reliable_sources).

Hi J.J.

Thanks for signing the Honor Code and for adding your DNA Test to your profile on WikiTree. Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and have the potential of having common ancestors. To get the best results, you need to continue adding sourced profiles for your ancestors until you can connect to existing profiles in WikiTree. If you have exhausted what you know on one line, try a different one. 24 hours after you connect to an existing profile, your test will have populated on the profiles of your ancestors and their descendants, where others with potential matches may also appear.

Let me know if you have any questions! Best of luck with the computer issues!! :)
