Charles H. Harrington was probably the son born at Livermore, Maine, on 23 Aug 1843 to Isaac Harrington and Emeline (Merrill) Harrington. and whose name was recorded as William H. During the Civil War. Charles H. Harrington served first in Company I of the 23rd Maine Volunteer Infantry Regiment, which was mustered in for nine months service on 29 Sep 1862 and mustered out on 15 Jul 1863. He re-enlisted for three years service on 5 Oct 1863 and was mustered in with Company A of the 30th Maine Volunteer Infantry Regiment on 15 Dec 1863. He died of disease on 24 Jul 1864.[2] His gravestone says that he died at Bermuda Hundred, Virginia.
