Biography

Lorenzo Benson Harrington was born at Livermore, Maine, on 18 May 1841, the son of Isaac Harrington and Emeline (Merrill) Harrington.^[1]

During the Civil War, Lorenzo B. Harrington enlisted in Company I of the 23rd Maine Volunteer Infantry Regiment for nine months service on 10 Sep 1862, and he mustered out with the regiment on 15 July 1863, He re-enlisted in the 7th battery of the 1st Battalion of Maine Light Artillery] on 20 Sep 1864 and served until the battalion mustered out on 21 Jun 1865.^[2]
