This profile mixes John Hadley Sr. and his son. Part of the problem is that the marriage records for the various John Hadleys in Gloucester are confusing. The John Hadley of this profile is called John Hadley Jr. in his marriage record as he had an older uncle with the same name who was then known as John Hadley Sr. By the time his son John Hadley married Sarah Witham in 1737, the son was known as John Hadley Jr. and his father had become John Hadley Sr. as the uncle had died. The will for the John Hadley shown on this profile is for John Hadley Jr. who married Sarah Witham in 1737. The children's names match that couple's and not those of John Hadley Sr. and Hannah Low. Most likely John Hadley, Sr. gave his property to his children and died intestate. He died after 1765 according to the History of Gloucester.
