Biography

David was born in the 1950's to Tom Grawrock and Cyphert in Tennessee. His father being the the US Navy, they moved often. David spent 6 wonderful weeks in Tennessee, has very found memories, and hasn't been back since. A succession of transfers and cruises had David living in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Long Island, Florida, San Diego, Guam, China Lake, and then Poway. He graduated High School from Poway High.

He married his high school sweetheart, Parker in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Los Angeles Temple in the 1970's.

David was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Moving around chasing jobs the family lived in San Diego, Poway, Pocatello, San Jose, West Valley City, South Jordan, Londonderry, and Aloha. His career in high tech took him to some industry leaders including Lotus Development, Central Point/Symantec, and finally Intel, from which he retired in the 2010's.

David was intimately involved with the Trusted Computing technologies[1] which started development in the early 2000's. He was the workgroup chair and editor of the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) specification. Which is standardized by International Standards Organization (ISO) as ISO/IEC 11889-1 [2]

After retirement, they moved to Southern Utah where David is working on his passions of hiking, photography, and, oh yes, genealogy.

Famous Relatives

Currently, unless one goes way back, there are not really any famous relatives. They are a mixed group, but just ordinary people who've lived life.

Patents

On a personal note, John Grawrock was an inventor. But also a gambler and supposedly lost his company to those who he owed gambling debts.[3] What is interesting is that David is also an inventor. His list of patents is at the US patent office.[4]

His goal is to have more patents than John. Currently, as of 27 Dec 2019, David is at 79 and John at 3. The issue is that it's very difficult to directly search for patents prior to 1972. The 3 currently located ones were all filed and issued on the same days. See John Grawrock for the list.

Dear David,

The Profile Improvement Project (PIP) is performing a check-in with project members. Please review the following and let us know if you are content where we have placed you or would like to be more involved.

The Project operates in a team structure. There are currently three participant PIP Teams -- The Maintenance Category Team, the Unknowns Team, and the Biography Team. There is also the Voyage Team which guides new Voyagers. See the Profile Improvement Project Teams for a brief outline of each team.

You're currently identified as a member of the Biography Team Level 1. Biography Team Level 1 works on profiles from their watchlist and other profiles that interest them. Biography Team Level 2 works on orphaned profiles from a provided list. Biography Team Level 3 works on notable profiles from the Project’s Maintenance Categories. Are you happy with the Team you are on? If you are interested in working with a different Team, please let us know.

If you have not already done so, we invite you to join the email GoogleGroup and text chat Discord channel for our project. (You will need your Wiki ID for both). Neither is required; we also use the Profile_Improvement tag in G2G for Project announcements.

We thank you for all you do to help the Profile Improvement Project meet its goals. We would like to hear about the successes you’ve had and would also appreciate any feedback you have to help improve the Project. Please share your thoughts in a reply to this comment or via private message to one of us.

Sincerely,

Debi Hoag and Kay Knight, Co-Leaders, Profile Improvement Project

Hi - it's the first annual check-in for the Holocaust Project.... if you wish to remain a member of the Holocaust Project please reply to this post, by stating this intention. If we don’t hear from you in the next 30 days, your membership badge will be removed. But don't worry ... you're welcome to rejoin at any time. Please also note, that in order to receive help with researching your ancestors or people of interest, membership is not mandatory. Just ask your questions in the G2G forum and tag them with "holocaust" in order for knowledgeable people to see them.

-Elaine, Holocaust Project Leader

Dear David,

The Profile Improvement Project (PIP) is performing its first annual check-in with our project members. Please review the following and let us know if you are content where we have placed you or would like to be more involved.

We are in the process of transitioning to a team structure. There will be three participant PIP Teams to start -- The Maintenance Category Team, the Unknowns Team, and the Biography Team. There is also the Voyage Team which guides new Voyagers. See the Profile Improvement Project Teams for a brief outline of each team.

You're currently identified as a member of the Biography Team Level 1, working on profiles from your own watchlist, from projects in which you are involved, and whatever else you find. Biography Teams Levels 2 and 3 will work on designated profiles for notables (Level 3) and everyday people (Level 2). Please let us know if you would like to help with a higher-level Bio Team or one of the other Teams.

You joined the Project before the Voyage started in late 2018. We would like to invite you to consider a "fast track" Voyage, especially if you would like to work at a higher level on the Biography Team. If you’re interested, choose a profile from your own watchlist from the 19th or 20 the century, that you have completed to the best of your ability and compare it to the Voyage Biography Standards. If your profile is at Level 2 or better, include a link to the profile in your response to this check-in for a “fast track” review.

We would also like to invite you to join the email GoogleGroup and text chat Discord channel for our project. If you request to join our GoogleGroup, please be sure to include your Wiki ID. Neither is required; we also use the Profile_Improvement tag in G2G for Project announcements.

We thank you for all you do to help the Profile Improvement Project and WikiTree. The Project’s mission is to:

Make profiles beautiful! We clean up messy biography sections and sources, and try to set standards for attractive, useful, and well-written biographies, starting with those we manage.

We know you’re working on profiles *smile* We would like to hear about successes you’ve had toward the Project’s goals. We would also appreciate any feedback you might have to help us improve the Project. Please share your thoughts in a reply to this comment or privately via private message to either of us.

Sincerely,

Debi Hoag and Robin Shaules Co-Leaders, Profile Improvement Project

I was trying to join, but I put my intro into the biobuilders and not profiles. Grin, I’ve still got lots to learn about WikiTree.

Hi David,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

The Norway Project may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.
