Biography

Seymour was born in 1873^[1]. He was the son of George Fell and Alice Budge.

PICTON. MARLBOROUGH EXPRESS, VOLUME XLI, ISSUE 299, 19 DECEMBER 1907 It is announced that Mr Seymour Fell will be a candidate for the seat on the Borough Council, rendered vacant by the departure of Mr Storey. He should be a welcome addition to our energetic Council.[1]

PICTON. MARLBOROUGH EXPRESS, VOLUME XLIV, ISSUE 239, 15 OCTOBER 1910 The engagement is announced of Miss Dawkins to Mr Seymour Fell. Both parties are very well-known and popular residents of Picton. The wedding will in all probability take place early in January.[2]

NEW ZEALAND TIMES, VOLUME XXXIII, ISSUE 7326, 3 JANUARY 1911 Mr and Mrs G. Fell leave to-morrow for Picton, to bo present at the marriage of their son, Mr Seymour Fell, to Miss Dawkins.[3]

NELSON EVENING MAIL, VOLUME LXIII, 20 JUNE 1929 The late Mr Seymour Fell, whose death occurred a few days ago at Picton at the age of 56 years, was a member of an old and well-known Marlborough family (says the “Express’). Eldest son of the late Mr Alfred George Fell, who was Mayor of Blenheim and a member of the Marlborough Education Board in former years, the deceased was born in Blenheim. He was engaged in sheep farming in Queen Charlotte Sound for many years, and was a prominent citizen of Picton, where he resided for the greater part of his life, taking a leading part in public affairs. He was a member of the Borough Council there for several years, and for a lengthy period was chairman of the Picton Hospital Board. The deceased leaves a widow.
