Biography

Caroline was born on 9 Mar 1850 in the western part of Pickens District that would soon become Oconee County, South Carolina. She was a daughter of Edward Hembree Jr. and Elizabeth Sanders.[1]

Caroline's father died in 1858, and not long after 1860, she moved with her mother and her siblings to Sevier County, Tennessee. There, she met and married William Allison, on 25 Dec 1870. [2]They made their home in Blount County, Tennessee, and had six children:[3][4]

  1. John Burgess (1872-1948)
  2. Sarah "Sallie" Elizabeth (1875-1938)
  3. Mary Bell (1878-1968)
  4. William Oscar (1881-1957)
  5. Finley Guy (1886-1938)
  6. Vina L. (1889-1961)

Caroline passed away on 14 Mar 1919 and was buried in Four Mile Cemetery, Maryville, Blount County, Tennessee.[5]
