Biography

Julie Emery dit Codere, the daughter of Pierre Emery dit Codere and Therese Bonin, is thought to be their daughter born and baptized on 4 June 1785 as Marie-Judith Coder.^[1] Généalogie du Québec et d'Amérique française (aka Genealogy of Canada) ^[2] believes they are one and the same, while PRDH gives Marie-Judith's baptism record when searching for Julie^[3], but doesn't go so far as to show them as the same person in the list of children born to the parents.^[4], which shows Julie born about 1786 with other children born and baptized on specific dates in 1784, 1785, and 1787.

Julie married Joseph Champagne dit Beaugrand on 7 February 1814 in St-Joseph-de-Lanoraie.^[5]

Julie died 27 February 1834 at the age of 48 years and was buried on the 28th at St-Joseph-de-Lanoraie.^[6] Her surname was given as Aimeri dite Coder, wife of Joseph Champagne. Her age at death is consistent with her being Marie-Judith, born on 4 June 1785.
