Birth Born 25 December 1806 in Rutherford County, Tennessee. Her parents were William Edwards and Nancy (Ward) Edwards.^[1][2][3]

Marriage Marries Samuel Clay on 2 November 1822 in Rutherford County Tennessee.^[4] The marriage produces:

Husband's death Her second husband, Solomn Shaw, was killed on 22 September 1862 at his home in Gibson County, Tennessee by two federal agents. His son Solomn was pistol whipped before his daughter, Asenath, shot and killed both of the agents. ^[9]
