Obituary

From the Cortland Standard, Monday, November 12, 1934:

Mrs., Ellen A. Comerford, 87, the widow of Thomas D. Comerford, died Sunday afternoon at 5:45 at the Cortland County Hospital where she had been a patient since five weeks ago when she fell and broke her hip while visiting her daughter, Mrs. Neva C. Austin in the town of Moravia.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 at the Wright Funeral Home and friends may call to view the remains after this evening. The burial will be made in Indian Mound Cemetery, Moravia.

Mrs. Comerford was a native of Summerhill, where she was born June 16, 1847. She was the daughter of the late Ebenezer and Adeline Eaton, being one of five children. She spent most of her married life at Sempronius and came to Cortland 33 years ago.

She is survived by her five children, Darwin Comerford of Niles, Mrs. Neva C. Austin of Moravia, Mrs. Henry H. Morris, Neil Comerford and T. Deck Comerford of Cortland, and one sister, Mrs. Vesta Rhodes of Dresserville. She also leaves 21 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
